Keyword & Boolean Searching

It is important to use certain keyword guidelines when searching

·        Do not search using long phrases from your topic.

Ex. The most affordable cars to purchase = affordable cars

Ex. Major symptoms people experience with the common cold = common cold symptoms

·        An article can still be useful even if your search terms do not appear within an article’s title. The terms can still appear within the article itself.

·        Always try synonyms when searching to receive the best results

o   Hip-hop, rap, urban music, or r&b

o   Children, kids, or toddlers

Boolean operators are useful when tying more than one keyword together.
